Saint Anthony Of Padua Patron Saint Of Lost Things Religion Essay
Saint Anthony Of Padua Patron Saint Of Lost Things Religion Essay Saint Anthony was a 13th century Franciscan Monk, Preacher and miracle worker. His birth name was Franciscan Thaumaturgust. When Franciscan Thaumaturgust became a Franciscan monk he was given the name of Anthony. Saint Anthony was born nearly 800 years ago in 1195 in Lisbon, Portugal. Saint Anthony was loyal to his church and deeply in love with God. His knowledge of the scripture and insight was incredible. According to Nugent, he was called in his day The Hammer of Heretics and The Ark of the Testament. (Nugent XIV). According to Steinbrock, Saint Anthony became a Franciscan monk because of the death in 1220 of five Franciscan monks (St. Bernard, St. Peter, St. Otho, St. Accursius, and St. Adjutus) who had been completely faithful to the Catholic Church. They were decapitated and their bodies were mutilated in Morocco, North Africa. Saint Anthony, wanting to follow in their footsteps of martyrdom, became a Franciscan monk. After the joining the Franciscan order, he only lived for ten more years (Steinbrock). Saint Anthony believed that a preachers goal must be to bring listeners to repentance and a total and genuine desire to turn away from sin, not just major sins, but all sins. Saint Anthony practiced sincere sorrow, through confession and designed all of his sermons around penance, with the intention of amendment and sorrow when confessing sin. (Nugent XIV) According to Saunders, St. Anthony was credited with many miracles during his lifetime. One miracle happened in Limoges, France while he was preaching on Holy Thursday at St. Pierre du Queriox Church. During his sermon he remembered that he was supposed to sing a lesson in the Divine Office, back where he lived at his monastery. It was then reported that he appeared simultaneously preaching in the church and singing the lesson at the monastery (Saunders). Another miracle attributed to St. Anthony is that he received an apparition of Baby Jesus. One night before Saint Anthony went to bed he decided to read the Bible. All of a sudden while reading, he saw Baby Jesus lying on the Bible and in his arms. Baby Jesus began touching and loving St. Anthonys face. This is why most photos of Saint Anthony are of him holding the Baby Jesus (Saunders). On October 3, 1226 Anthony traveled through La Provence, and returned to Italy. During this expedition another miracle happened to him. St. Anthony was burnt out by the long journey. He and his accomplice entered the house of a poor woman and she offered them wine and bread. In her haste to serve them the women forgot to cap the wine-barrel. St. Anthonys accomplice then broke his wine glass. Anthony immediately began to pray. Suddenly the glass was magically put back together in front of their eyes, and the empty barrel went from no wine to full with wine (Knight). Saint Anthony was elected Minister Provincial of Emilia after his return from Italy. But on May 30th, 1230 he decided to spend more time preaching so he resigned the office at the General Chapter of Assisi, and retired to the Convent of Padua. The last Lent he preached was in 1231. Over 30,000 people came from all parts of the world to see and hear him speak. The last sermons for Saint Anthony spoke of the wrongness of hatred and enmity. (Knight) Saint Anthony became very ill in 1231 and went to the woodland retreat, Camposampiero with two other monks for relaxation. Anthony lived in a cell built for him under the branches of a walnut tree. After his stay on the way back to Padua, Saint Anthony died at age 35. On the 13th of June in 1231, at the Poor Clare convent at Arcella, the great speaker was announced dead (Nugent 79). According to Saunders, right after his death the children in the streets started crying, The holy Father is dead. St. Anthony is dead. Thirty years upon his burial, people opened his vault and found his body had vanished in thin air, except for his tongue. St. Bonaventure grabbed the tongue and kissed it. According to Saunders, Saint Bonaventure then exclaimed, O Blessed tongue that had always praised the Lord, and made others bless Him, now it is evident what great merit thou hast before God. To this day, many people have received miracles at the tomb of St. Anthony in Padua (Saunders). According to Saunders, Pope Pius XII declared St. Anthony a Doctor of the Church on January 16, 1946. Many people around the world continue to pray to St. Anthony for strength and sorrowful repentance, as well as for help in finding lost items (Saunders).

Effective Project Communication Management Essay
Different communication methods are used within the business environment in order to ensure that the business runs as smoothly and effectively as possible. By doing so, this means that no misinterpretations or misunderstandings are made and therefore all information is both passed and received correctly. Different examples of communication used within a business environment can vary from phone calls, emails and face to face meetings. Depending on the situation and case youââ¬â¢re dealing with depends on what form of communication you would use as you want to use the one that is the most effective for what youââ¬â¢re doing. For example, if you want something in which you gain the most information from and get a feel for what youââ¬â¢re dealing with then a face to face meeting will probably be the most effective. Whereas if you just want to send something quick and easy then an email is probably more appropriate to use. When considering requirements for different audiences you have to take into consideration different things that might mean you have to vary how you go about things. For example, age, gender, and any disabilities may all be factors that you have to cater around. If you have a group of people who youââ¬â¢re wanting to do some sort of activity with and someone within the group is in a wheelchair then you have to make sure that they are also able to take part too and that you make any adjustments if needed to do so. Just like if you have someone who is partially/ fully death then getting a translator in so that they can understand too is necessary to make sure all information is collected efficiently by everyone there. Grammar. Grammar is what makes a sentence make sense. Itââ¬â¢s the way that sentences are constructed. Without correct grammar, sentences can easily be misunderstood. By using correct grammar in a business environment means that youââ¬â¢re communicating more effectively and therefore acts as a time management skill as it lessens any confusion. Sentence structure. It is key to use sentence structures in the business environment. This ensures your messages are broken down clearly and arenââ¬â¢t all one big message with no punctuation or break down etc. By doing so helps emphasize any points being made and also means that communications are correctly interpreted. Punctuation. Punctuation breaks down texts into sentences, phrases, clauses and so on. Itââ¬â¢s important that itââ¬â¢s used in a business environment because it helps stop any confusion arising or misunderstanding of the message that is supposed to be given. This is because lack of or incorrect punctuation can give a sentence a completely different meaning. For example, ââ¬Å"Letââ¬â¢s eat Fayeâ⬠as opposed to ââ¬Å"letââ¬â¢s eat, Fayeâ⬠. Thatââ¬â¢s why, in order to communicate effectively, it is important to ensure you use correct punctuation where needed. Spelling. When it comes to spelling and business communications, again, it is key to make sure everything is spelled correctly. Just like the rest, incorrect spelling leads to a misunderstanding of what is trying to be said as one misspelled word can change the entire meaning of a message. Conventions. Conventions make writing more understandable as itââ¬â¢s broken down into paragraphs with correct grammar, spelling etc. This makes communications in a business easier as it means that the message can be fluently read rather than having to be broken down in order to be able to understand it properly. Correct grammar is important when being used in business documents, such as emails, as it forms a professional relationship between both colleagues and customers. A massive part of communicating involves face to face meetings and therefore means the way that you put yourself across with, not only your tone of voice, but also body language is extremely important. This meaning that when dealing with sensitive cases, the tone of voice you use and body language you express should be taken into consideration greatly. You should make sure that youââ¬â¢re empathetic and that you consider the words in which you emphasize when trying to draw the listenerââ¬â¢s attention. It is important to make sure you make a conscious effort to control your body language and tone of voice when speaking because body language portrays subconscious messages when communicating and can sometimes mislay the wrong impression. Examples of good body language would be making sure you make sufficient amount of eye contact, correct gestures if necessary and making sure facial expressions are appropriate. As for the tone of voice, a lot of the time people donââ¬â¢t remem ber what we say as such but more how we say it and thatââ¬â¢s why using the correct tone of voice is important within the business environment to stop any misinterpretations.

The Political Divisions Of The United States - 1507 Words
The main political divisions in the United States are into two parties - the Republicans and the Democrats. A recent Pew Research study (Dimock et al. 2014) noticed a growth in ideological consistency within the parties, with the overlap in conservativeness and liberality shrinking between 1994 and 2014. This polarization of political views could have many effects on the politics of the nation - both in the upcoming (2016) presidential election and societal developments in the future. Polarization in political views, while not bad in and of itself, can hinder the actions of the nation as the two sides staunchly bicker over whoââ¬â¢s right instead of working together toward an actionable solution. Lack of unified national strategy hamstringsâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦If increased polarization is associated with a decrease in confidence in the nationââ¬â¢s government, this could indicate at least one undesirable situation that should be changed. Revising the way our government is elected could increase satisfaction, especially if this also attenuated the spread of polarization. To see if extreme political views are associated with either satisfaction or a sense of the governments disfunctionality, I turned to the General Social Survey. Produced by the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago, the survey covers many social topics including a general self-assessment of political views, and confidence in societal institutions. This survey randomly sampled adults across the United States and collected the information by in-person interviews, each interview in a given year producing a single case. The GSS has been surveying since 1972, but we will only be using data from 1994-2012 so we can compare each yearââ¬â¢s results to the already identified trend of polarization. I looked for correlations between people who self described their political views as extreme and other variables in the dataset pertaining to confidence in federal institutions. Since the data from the GSS is a preexisting survey, this is an observational study, not an experiment. Conclusions from this study can be generalized to the US population at large, but there is a very strong volunteer bias attached to relying on a

Symptoms And Treatment Of Skin - 1446 Words
When asked about their major illnesses, the client stated to have hypertension, severe dyspnea, and edema. The client also stated that she suffered from a heart attack in the past, which was due to high blood pressure. Many of the clientââ¬â¢s problems branched off from the heart attack and hypertension. For example, a heart attack and high blood pressure can cause heart failure, heart failure can cause pulmonary edema, and pulmonary edema can lead to swelling of the lower extremities and dyspnea (Grossman Porth, 2014). However, the most recent hospitalization for the client was due to severe edema, and trouble breathing. Severe edema is one of the major causes for impaired skin integrity. Relationship between Auditors and Management
Question: Discuss about the Relationship between Auditors and Management. Answer: Introduction Trust takes years to build, seconds to break, and forever to fix. This is one of the biggest statement that reflects how the management and the subordinates including other stakeholders related in an organization. Auditing is defined to be examination of organizational financial statements, assets and other related document in order to evaluate them if they give through and fair view of the company performance(Schmidt, 2016). Auditing in an organization requires substantial relation between the management and professional auditors who play a vital role in making responsive decision which influence the company operation and performance. Apparently, trust could be broken in few seconds but can be fix forever, according to the international audit guidelines, internal control system should be used by both stakeholders to fix issues which face their operation in the organization(Farber, 2005). Internal control system are the strategic measures which are used to fix the deviation in relation to the opinions and report provided by the internal auditors. While gaining the broken trust and fixing it, management and auditors should consider adopting the pertinent moral principles which will guide their operation and performance. Credibility Credibility is a crucial aspect of determining the relationship between internal auditors and management in an operational organization. It is a fundamental aspect which is focus in addressing the emotional effects which may arise during audit operations, knowledge and experience act as the pillars of credibility between managers and auditors in an enterprise(R , Zhou, Hoang, 2016). Reliability While focusing on how trust is built, broken and its effects are fixed, reliability is one of the main factors which should be used as the methodology. Trust is built by professional managers and auditors when they professionally discuss their stand regarding their responsibilities, it also fails when both parties fail to provide true and fair information which could have been used in making decision to the enterprise. Trustworthiness between is engaged in an organization by engaging on the internal control system and measures which should be used to end the effect of falling trust between internal auditors and senior managers(Farber, 2005). Conclusion Trust between the management and auditors in an organization acts as the platform obtaining relevant information which are used during decision making process. Honesty is a key factor the success of every operating business institution where each individual should be honesty and trustworthy to each other while they perform their respective job functions(Messier Jr, 2016). Trust acts as the pillar to the relationship between the internal auditors and the organizational senior management, this element of relationship takes whole course in order to reach its completion, and on the other hand it takes only few seconds to be brought down. This is when both parties fail to respectively perform their responsibilities as well as trying to act in an unprofessional manner(R , Zhou, Hoang, 2016). Therefore, when analyzing the relationship between managers and auditors in an organization trust should be used as the measurement. References Farber, D. B. (2005).
